Chinese companies show interest in investing in the Belarusian agricultural sector. Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said this in an interview with Xinhua news agency.

"We need to develop cooperation between various enterprises and companies more actively, and it's positive that we have completed all the procedures related to the export of Belarusian beef to China. We have practically completed the certification procedure for a number of our dairy enterprises that will supply products to China, the final stage is the procedure for obtaining a certificate for the export of poultry meat to the PRC, etc. This is all very important and positive, "the foreign minister said.

He added that some Chinese companies have expressed interest and have already taken concrete steps to invest in the development of the agricultural sector in Belarus, referring to the subsequent export of agricultural products to China. "It is important for us to move from simple trade, exchange of goods to cooperation in the credit and investment sphere, and we have a clear understanding of how to move forward, and I am confident that we will achieve even greater success in bilateral cooperation in the near future," Vladimir Makei believes. The Minister also spoke for more active development of regional cooperation. 

"Each Chinese province, in fact, is comparable with the average and even with the large European states in its potential, we pay a very active attention to this aspect - the development of interregional cooperation. As to the number of mutual visits, our cooperation with China has already become equal to a similar cooperation with Russia, which is close by and is our most important political and trade and economic partner, this fact speaks for itself, "he said. Answering the question about what additional efforts should be made by China and Belarus to bring the bilateral relations to a new level, Vladimir Makei stressed that such efforts should be applied daily and constantly.

"From our point of view, it is necessary to continue maintaining the high level political dialogue between our countries. The relationships that have developed at the highest level among the leaders of our countries are very important because they set an example for the whole system of government bodies of our states. Therefore, we must continue to support the high level of political dialogue that exists between our states, not only between the leaders of our states, not only between different ministries and departments, but also between business communities, in the humanitarian sphere, between students and tourists, " the minister said.
