Estonian business invested in Belarus 50m dollars last year

Estonian business invested in Belarus 50 million dollars in 2016. Woodworking foreign enterprise Vitebsk Sawmill, creation of Caamos Grupp, is an example of the largest investment projects, which have been realized in Belarus with the help of Estonian enterprisers. Now it is planned to implement a significant project (about 9 mln euro) to establish pellet production.

The following deals can be also considered as huge ones – the acquisition by Estonian company Silvano Investment Group of  part of the share package of JV CJSC Milavitsa, the creation of a carton printing plant near Minsk by AS Kristond company and the organization of production bagging by AS Interpap. 

According to the data of the Belarusian FMA, 105 enterprises with Estonian capital were registered in the country including 60 joint ventures and 45 foreign enterprises. 32.5 mln dollars were contributed from the date of establishment to the collective investment funds of the organizations.
