Two independent consortia will carry out work on pre-privatization preparation and attraction of strategic investors for four Belarusian enterprises of light and chemical industry: OJSC Krion, OJSC Lakokraska, OJSC 8 March and OJSC Lenta.

NAIP has concluded relevant contracts with the world's leading companies specializing in investment activities, financial audit and legal support of the business. The leader of the consortium for light industry enterprises becomes the Austrian investment boutique Mattig Management Partners GesmbH, for the chemical industry - OOO KPMG, which is part of the structure of the Big Four member, the world-famous auditing company KPMG.

The consortiums will conduct comprehensive expert examination of joint-stock companies (due diligence), market research, assessment taking into account national and international standards, and will also look for and attract strategic investors interested in the development of enterprises. The consortium will be supported by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, the Ministry of Economy, the State Property Committee, the Belneftekhim Concern and Bellegprom.

"Enterprises have a unique opportunity to use the services of high-level international experts to increase their attractiveness without financial costs from both the enterprise and the budget. Attraction of strategic investors to these enterprises will contribute to their further development, access to new sales markets," Denis Meleshkin, NAIP Acting Director, said.

The work on pre-privatization preparation and attraction of strategic investors will be carried out within the framework of the project "Support for privatization" implemented by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization with the support of the World Bank and suggests various approaches for strategic investors' participation in the development of open joint-stock companies, first of all - the creation of joint ventures or acquisition of additional share issues by investors.
