Minsk entered the top 10 most promising European cities for foreign investors. ‘European Cities and Regions of the Future 2016-2017’ ranking, compiled by fDi Intelligence resource (subdivision of the Financial Times), is an authoritative and provides an effective analysis of European cities for business and investment development.

Materials for participation in the competition were prepared and submitted to the international jury by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization. According to the experts, the capital of Belarus ranked second in ‘Top 10 Major European City of the Future – Cost Effectiveness’ and 10th place in ‘Top 10 Major European City of the Future – FDI Strategy.’

This year, 223 settlements took part in the completion. While compiling the ranking 96 independent indicators were taken into account. Calculations were carried out according to the analysis and evaluation of the leading experts of Foreign Direct Investments Magazine and included the following: economic potential, human resources, level of costs of doing business, quality of life, quality of infrastructure, ease of doing business, FDI strategy. The best city in the overall ranking of all cities was determined, as well as each city participated in its category (in terms of the number of people): large, medium, small, micro-town.

The European Cities and Regions of the Future Awards Ceremony will be held on March 15, 2016 within the framework of the MIPIM international real estate exhibition (Cannes, France).
