Belarus may become one of major European centers in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, Director of Belarus' Hi-Tech Park Vsevolod Yanchevsky said when commenting on the registration of a record-breaking number of resident companies in the Hi-Tech Park on 13 March.

“Needless to say, we are happy to see so many companies join the Hi-Tech Park. There is another important thing. There are many promising startups and mature companies working in artificial intelligence and machine learning among those who have joined the HTP recently. We see today that our country and the Hi-Tech Park have all the chances to become one of major European centers in this field,” Vsevolod Yanchevsky remarked.

The HTP Supervisory Board registered 46 new resident companies on 13 March. Their number has grown by a quarter from 192 to 238. This dramatic increase took place before the adoption of the Digital Economy Development Ordinance. The IT community has praised the document and has taken reciprocal steps in return.

The HTP has welcomed both startups and big-name companies, for instance, the Russian giant Mail.ru. Their Minsk office will be developing game projects. The new residents also include experienced domestic players that provide services to industrial giants in Belarus and worldwide.

The Hi-Tech Park has grown both in terms of quantity and quality as the new resident companies focus on in-demand lines of business and technologies: AI software development (neural networks, machine learning, computer vision) and augmented reality – Wannaby, Camera First Development, Canoe, Twistellar, and other companies; BigData software development - Big Data Technologies and SpiralScout; IOT software and hardware development - Klika Tech; precision farming software development – OneSoil. Five out of the forty-six new resident companies are related both with software and hardware, namely Clevetura, VRTEK, Klika Tech, Circuit Engineering Technologies, and Softmax. Many new resident companies focus both on exports and on the domestic market: Wiseweb, Intermech, Service-Partner, and Softmax.
