Belarusian agriculture is a dynamically developing industry. Belarus almost fully provides itself with food products. Certain types of agricultural goods make up the export potential of the country. Production of agricultural products per capita in the country corresponds to the level of developed countries and in many positions (production of potatoes, sugar beet, meat, milk) exceeds the indicators achieved in the CIS countries. Grain and grain legumes, as well as fodder crops, occupy a significant share in the structure of crop production, which is due to the specialization of the republic's agriculture mainly in the dairy and meat cattle breeding. The main grain crops are barley, rye, and triticale. Potatoes and flax are also very essential. Main vegetables grown are carrots, beetroot, and cabbage. Belarus has a significant potential to increase the gross output of cereals and industrial crops, potatoes, and vegetables, as well as animal feed.
